Slow down

This weekend we did practically nothing
and it was wonderful.

I feel like we've been on the go so much lately that it was nice to enjoy some low key time with each other.

Sunday afternoon was gorgeous here, so we decided to head out to the "farm" and do a little shooting.
You know you're in South Georgia when....

I didn't shoot much, so this was my perch

T setting up the target

We forgot ear plugs, so we had to manage with some McDonald's napkins stuffed in our ears - even though we looked pretty dumb it worked pretty well :)

T shooting his shotgun

and me shooting
I was such a chicken about the whole thing, but it was fun!

Once we got finished we decided to ride around the farm and check things out.  It was such a pretty day, but it is already hot here.  It was nice to get a breeze going after sitting outside for awhile.

Something about dirt roads...makes me want to belt out a Dixie Chicks song or something

Even dirt roads have stop signs...who knew?

Once we got home I decided to make some Quacamole (my fav) with my favorite mix - the seasoning makes the quac extra special! I've been told mine is the best!  And believe me, I don't make "the best" anything!
You can find it at Wal-Mart for like a dollar - its worth every penny.  Just add a tomato, some lime juice and avocado - perfection!

Can you believe that T doesn't like quac?
He says its too "slimy"
so more for me... :)

I also threw on a little Jimmy Buffet while getting dinner ready
Such a classic.   It just puts you in such a relaxed mood

For dinner we grilled out hamburgers (something we don't do enough of)

Birdie had to check out what was going on - don't worry she didn't get on the table, she has manners

The finished product.
Of course, I forgot hamburger buns so we improvised with hot dog buns.
Although it was a little cumbersome, it worked fine!

Dinner is served

(you can see in the background our backyard looks like a mud pit, well it is...for now!  We T will be laying some sod...very, very soon)

happy husband

and here was our evening entertainment
Birdie on the roof
again
I've never seen a cat love to play on the roof like her!  I guess it her own personal playground!

Hope y'all had a great weekend - isn't nice to slow down every once in awhile!?

good times...

Hey friends!  Sorry for the lack of posting around here, but my parents have kidnapped my "good" camera, so I haven't taken too many pics of late...And, we are, as usual, busy.  I must say it is the good kind of busy though.  I haven't posted much about our move to Americus, but I must say we really have loved it here.  Its nice to be closer to family and friends (even my parent's are 3 hours closer now!).  We have also really making over our new house - we have made some big changes so far.  I know I keep promising before and after pics but I'm assure you they are coming soon!!!  Very excited to share!

Anyway, since I have taken many "good" pics, I thought I'd share what is on my cellphone as of late...
Lots of random shots but bare with me :)

I took this pic a few weeks ago while I was at a conference at Lake Lanier - not too shabby of a view :)

I spotted this at the mall while there...
Hysterical!
I def need this for Halloween!

********************
One night after work, T and I randomly popped a bottle of champagne
Sometimes you just need a little cocktail!

********************

Everyday I come home to this...
you see that little black speck on the roof?  Well, that's kitty, Birdie!
She loves to climb on the roof and hangout all day!  It's like her own personal playground!
She is a mess!

********************

We bought this sofa table the other day for our main living room
It was on sale - yay!  Can't wait to pick it up next week!

********************

Birdie and I hanging out one Sunday afternoon
Gah, she is cute :)

********************

I took this picture while I was at my parent's house a few weeks back
My mom gave me this before I left for college and I admit I didn't always obey every single one, but I must say this advice served me well then and now!

********************
Spring is officially here!
We have ferns!
Now, lets see how long I can keep them alive!

********************

And Easter is almost here, too - I am headed to Hilton Head for Easter!  Hallelujah!
See my new bunny - it came from Cracker Barrel.  Ha.  Who knew they had such fab decor ;)
Excuse our living room - we are still a work in progress!

********************

Speaking of living rooms, I kind of love this coffee table.
What do yall think?  Too modern looking?

********************

Let's talk about books!

Can I just tell y'all how fabulous the Hunger Games series is?!?
Unreal!
I did not want them to end.  I can't wait for the movie.  I can't believe I'm saying this but they are right up there with Harry Potter!

One of the lawyers in my office gave me this book to read - he worked with the prosecuting attorney in the case.  It's a true story about a woman in Georgia who was found guilty of poisoning four members of her family with arsenic.  So disturbing!  I can't say I recommend it, if you want to sleep at night.  However, it is fascinating in a scary sort of way.

I'm now reading this:

So does anyone have any "happy" reads?
I need some uplifting stories after these two!

********************

I did a little faux flower arranging this weekend...
I really am not a fan of fakies, but I may keep these around for awhile...
What do you think?

********************

Our new white living room
Such a big change from deep red!  Makes it feel much bigger!
Several more things to do in here before its complete, but this was a huge step!

 ********************
This weekend I did a little bargain shopping
My new pink coat!

Pretty good deal if you consider it was 188.00!
I hope we have a winter next year so I can wear it!

and a new dress

Love the little pop of pink of the cuffs!

and loved the price tag!
Yay for good deals!

Well, thats all for now!
Hope everyone is enjoying this warm weather!

Much Love.

Laaazy Sunday

It has been cold and rainy here today, so we have been rather unproductive
T has watched a couple of movies, while I've been reading this

SO GOOD!
I picked it up from the library yesterday and haven't put it down!
I can't wait to start on the second book and see the movie!  I've watched the trailer like 3 times since I finished the book.  I can't believe they cast Lenny Kravitz as Cinna - perfection!

Kitty has been enjoying the lazy day, as well
Here she is keeping "watch" in the living room on her favorite chair

This is helping us relax even more
My new favorite candle fragrance

And since we are being lazy - frozen pizza for dinner

And this for dessert

If you haven't tried this...you should
It is delicious...delicious!!!

Tomorrow it is back to the grind though
I've programmed my coffee pot and planned out dinner for tomorrow (a rare occurrence)

I've been dying to make these...

My crockpot is out and ready to go
It got a little damaged when we moved, but it still gets the job done!

Well, time to go eat pizza and ice cream
and watch Once Upon a Time, which is my new favorite show!
Happy Sunday, Loves
