Ultimate Bad Blogger

So I have been totally MIA
but I do have a good excuse
We finally moved into our new house!!!

Isn't she beautiful?!?
We love it here!

My favorite part is the yard
oh and my sweet walk-in closet
(that I have all to myself - Woohooo!!!)

(I promise to show pics soon, lots of before and afters)

We  I have been super busy
unpacking
but I will say, T has been busy in the yard!

I walked out the other day and he was literally in a tree
pruning

Good grief

but as you can see, he was happy as a lark!
It made my heart happy!

We have been loving fall, too
and decorating our new place for Halloween
The other night we got Boo'd

Do y'all play this game in your neighborhood?
If not, you should!  It's such a fun way for adults to get involved in Halloween!
Somebody got us so good
People banging on my door at 11 pm tend to freak me out, but they did...

leave us...
 some sweet treats!

Cute, right?!?

Oh, I love Halloween!

Tonight we had tons of trick-or-treaters!
A lady at the courthouse told me today - "are you ready for tonight?  you're going to have lots of trick-or-treaters in your neighborhood!"

I thought, yeah I've got plenty

Um not so much, I should have doubled that!
I was out of candy within the first hour or so!

I think the kids were attracted to my gigantic pumpkin?
Yeah, I live in the burbs and I have a giant blow up pumpkin
all I need now is a minivan and 3 kids

I sort of love it though!

Hope you are all doing great!  I'm so ready to catch up on all I've missed this past month!
xx.
Happppy Halloweeeeen!!!

Life's a Beach

Whew!
Summer has been crazy so far - Is it me or has this year gone by super fast?
T, myself, and some good friends of ours headed to Destin, where T's parents have a condo (that is beyond cute and decorated to perfection)!  The beach was incredibly crowded for Memorial Day, but it's the beach, so who can complain?  Sun, sand, friends, a cold beverage or two...so perfect!

Unfortunately, I didn't get any good beach pictures.  I took my camera down to the beach, and almost had a mini heart attack.  My camera aka baby had been out of its bag for all of two seconds and was covered with sand particles!  No thanks.

The beach house had a great selection of old magazines to read - Lots of "vintage" Coastal Livings and my favorite, Southern Accents.  Can we please start a petition to bring this magazine back?

You would have thought we had three children and nine adults with all the stuff we toted down to the beach each day.  Umbrellas, chairs, magazines, coolers, food, hats, towels

and lots of this stuff

I know 100 SPF sounds a bit extreme, and applying it is sort of like slathering on a coat of Elmer's glue, but the freckle population on my face is rapidly growing - ugh.  I still manage to get sun even with this stuff - and yes, I repeat and reapply!

I checked out Sara Gruen's, Ape House, before we left.  It is a great book!  Of course, it doesn't have the love story of Water for Elephants and its not as good (WFE was hard to beat though), but I felt like I learned more from this book.  Sara seems to take a lot of her writing from true historical events and things that happen to her.  I was still very impressed.
Check it out!

We headed to Seaside for dinner one night - I love Seaside.  It's so cute.  The houses and the architecture are simply to die for!  If you have kids, it's a great place to visit!

My only picture of the night.  How great is the courtyard - I can't get enough of the lights and the adirondack chairs!  Classic.

We had so much fun - and, as always, we were very sad to leave, but there is always...
next time

On another note, I'm dying to read The Help!  I'm also excited to see the movie!  I can't decide whether I should read the book first or see the movie - I'm usually disappointed in the movies, so I'm thinking if I see it first maybe I'll enjoy it more!

And in other news, I LOVE Pintrest!  Thank you to Tessa @ Nine & Sixteen for inviting me!  The only things I've pinned are Halloween images.  I think I'm the only nut, who is planning a Halloween party in June.  I love Halloween/Fall! I'm going to have to implement some of these ideas...

I especially like this one...

Now to come up with a costume!
I know, I'm weird, forgive me...

Hope everyone's summer has started off wonderfully!
xx.

YAY...

For HALLOWEEN!!!

We've got our fake spider web ready to be put up {wonder if this is a pain to take down?}...

and LOTS of candy {I hope this makes it for another 10 days...doubtful}...

"We're not gonna make it!!!!" -Candy

and the pumpkins are out...

and I've watched Hocus Pocus about 5 times...

I love, love, love Halloween!  I think I love Halloween even more now than I did when I was little.  My parents live in the boondocks, so we never ever had trick-or-treaters growing up.  T and I live in a great little neighborhood, so I can't wait to see all of the costumes!

I found this cutesy outfit for RM {our niece} at Wal-Mart and I couldn't resist...esp. since it was only 5 bucks.  I thought it was pretty cute.  Hope it makes it to her before Halloween.  Be on the lookout Pren!

One bad thing about Savannah is that the seasons never really change.  It's been in the 80's, so needless to say it hasn't felt like fall.  I'm still wearing shorts and I haven't even looked at my winter clothes yet.  Last year T and I took a trip to Maine for Halloween.  The leaves were beautiful and the weather was perfect!  Maine is the perfect place to be for Halloween.  Here are some of my favorite houses...

Speaking a scary, spooky Halloween, have you peeps ever watched Scare Tactics?  It comes on the Sci Fi Channel Monday nights.  T and I randomly stumbled across it the other night and literally I was about to pee in my pants the first 5 seconds...some of them are HYSTERICAL!  It's even more fun watching it with T bc he has one of those laughs that makes me laugh...like you can truly tell its coming from his soul.

Check it out...
