Viva Italia

Hello blog friends!
I feel like it's been crazy since we moved - I'm ready to get back into my blogging groove

So to bounce back
here is the third or fourth part (can't remember - see I'm really in a haze) of our honeymoon!
We stayed at the Hotel Bellevue Syrene in Sorrento, which has some serious history:

Syrene, a luxury charm hotel in Sorrento,  goes back to ancient times. The Roman remains and the wonderful grottoes dating back to the 2nd century BC, reveal the love the emperors had for this magical place set between wonderful greenery and azure sea.
The current villa of Sorrento’s  5-star hotel  rises, in fact, on the foundations of a much bigger Roman villa where Emperor Augustus was exiled for political reasons.
It was the Earls Mastrobuono who began the construction of the current villa in 1750 for their summer vacations, and it was only in 1820 that a cosy hotel of about 30 spacious and comfortable rooms was created, within an oasis of peace and outstanding natural beauty.

See what I mean?!?

Getting there was a long day!
but
totally worth it

champagne and grapes

and
an amazing view

we popped open some champagne
fed each other some grapes
and relaxed

after that
we headed to the "beach"

our hotel was at the top of a cliff, so there were many stairs
there was an elevator, but we were ready to stretch our legs

me sans makeup

The next day we work up to an amazing breakfast
The hotel had a machine where you put in a whole orange in the top and it made fresh squeezed OJ
heaven

T, of course, was dying to catch the score of the Auburn game!
they won - Happy Honeymoon to him!

this was the breakfast terrace, which was closed due to rain
sad day

This is one of the rooms
isn't it gorg - look at that ceiling!
about to head out to explore

well, that's all for now
We are headed home for Mother's Day and my bro's graduation!
Tres excited!
HAPPY WEEKEND!
Much Love!

Honey, you sans makeup = so pretty! I think I have to have a full face of makeup on to look like you without any at all! :)

Ya'lls honeymoon looks absolutely amazing. Ian and I will be just returning from our honeymoon one month from now. We'd like to go to Europe at some point together (he has been to Scotland before) but for the honeymoon we'll be beachin' it in the DR.

Hope life in the pink house is swell!
